Northland House Group Home is licensed by the State of Wisconsin as a Community Based Residential Facility and offers a highly structured residential program to provide alternate care for up to eight males. The age group typically ranges from 18 to 22 years old.
The program was founded in 1977, and is located in a residential area in the City of Wausau in a beautiful eight bedroom brick home. The Home is within easy walking distance to the YMCA, library, and the downtown business and commercial area with its numerous employment opportunities. For those residents who are interested in continuing education, Wausau offers the Northcentral Technical College and the University of Wisconsin-Marathon Campus.
Northland House is designed to assist residents with their goal to live independently within a community. Northland House provides in-house Independent Living and AODA aftercare classes relevant to specific needs. Counseling is provided twice per month with a Master Social Worker. Opportunities are provided to improve personal skills, to pursue formal educational goals and to acquire on-the-job work experience for eventual reintegration into the community.
